About Velocity Chart Gadget
Velocity is one of the main KPIs of Agile Teams and transparency is how Agile Teams work.
Velocity Chart Gadget helps Agile Teams to visualize such aspects of their work like initial and final sprint commitments, added and removed work during sprint as well as completed work (velocity) on Jira Dashboards.

Installation Guide
Installing Velocity Chart Gadget for Jira Server
- Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
- Click the admin dropdown and choose Atlassian Marketplace. The Manage apps screen loads.
- Click Find new apps or Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
- Locate Agile Velocity Chart Gadget via search. The appropriate app version appears in the search results.
- Click Try free to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license for Agile Velocity Chart Gadget. You're prompted to log into MyAtlassian. Agile Velocity Chart Gadget begins to download.
- Enter your information and click Generate license when redirected to MyAtlassian.
- Click Apply license. If you're using an older version of UPM, you can copy and paste the license into your Jira instance.
Installing Velocity Chart Gadget for Jira Cloud

- Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
- Click the admin dropdown and choose Add-ons. The Find new apps or Find new add-ons screen loads.
- Locate Agile Velocity Chart Gadget.
- Click Free trial to download and install your app.
- Click Close in the Installed and ready to go dialog.
- Configure Jira Cloud Application Link.

Configure newly added gadget with available configuration options.

Option

Available chart type options are:
- line chart - all chart data series are shown as lines
- bar chart - all chart data series are shown as bars
- stack bar chart - chart data series are shown as stack bar or lines

Time unit option is available only for boards with time estimates.
By default time estimates are displayed in hours and with this option it is possible to switch to days.
The number of hours per day is taken from Jira Time Tracking configuration.

Chart data represents the details of a sprint which will be displayed on the chart.
- Initial commitment - total estimate of all sprint issues right after sprint start.
- Final commitment - total estimate of all sprint issues after completion of a sprint which includes issue estimate changes, added and removed issues.
- Added work - estimate of all issues added to a sprint after it's start.
- Removed work - estimate of all issues removed from a sprint after it's start.
- Completed work - estimate of all issues completed during the sprint (velocity).
For bar chart it is possible to configure the order of bars which represent particular sprint attributes.
For stack bar chart it is possible to configure the type of individual chart data item from Bar (default) or Line.
For active sprint all chart data except Initial commitment show values at the time of viewing.

Chart configuration options to show additional details for all sprints
- Show average - average value for every visible chart data displayed as a line and calculated based on all sprints.
- Show value labels - annotate all sprints data with number values including averages if enabled.

The number of sprints to be displayed on the chart.
Global max sprint count can be configured in app configuration to prevent unreasonable high values.

Regular expression to match sprint names against, only matching sprints will be included into velocity calculation:
- ^TeamA - find sprints with names starting with TeamA
- TeamA$ - find sprints with names ending with TeamA
- TeamA - find sprints with names containing TeamA

Exporting data to Excel
In order to view and edit velocity data in Excel you can export data in CSV format via "Export" action and then open csv file in Excel.
