Agile Reports operates with data stored in Jira and gadget-specific configuration. Thus, the migration from Server to Cloud is a two-step process:
Migrate Jira data such as projects, dashboards, issues, users, etc... from Server to Cloud. Atlassian recommends using JCMA (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1222010/jira-cloud-migration-assistant) for this.
Once the Jira data is migrated from Server to Cloud the Agile Reports gadgets' configuration should be migrated. To do this we recommend using configuration export-import functionality. Follow these steps to migrate specific gadgets from Server to Cloud:
Open the gadget you want to migrate in Jira Server and click “Export” → “Export settings”:
Create the new gadget in Jira Cloud, navigate to “Import settings”, and upload the exported file:
Note, that there is validation logic that checks whether all Jira data specified in exported configuration exists (for example on the screenshot the board with id “417” does not exist, because after migration the board may change its id):
Confirm and proceed by clicking “Import”. The configuration is imported stating that the board was not found:
Hence a specific piece of data (board id in our case) is not resolved the gadget invites to specify it:
Specify the missing required data and press the save button to start using the gadget
Note:
We recommend updating the Agile Reports and Gadgets app (both Server/DC and Cloud) to the latest version before import/export.
