In Progress and Waiting groups

Calculation > In Progress group / Waiting group

By default, the chart measures time for all statuses in the In Progress category. You can customize which statuses belong to each group to reflect your workflow more accurately in the Calculation settings:

In Progress group

Use this group to include statuses representing active work (e.g. In Progress, In Code Review, In Testing). You can add any number of statuses, even if they belong to different categories in Jira.

The statuses you include in the In Progress group will also affect the Start timer on settings used for Cycle time calculation in the Cycle time histogram and Cycle time trend charts.

Waiting group

Optionally, define a Waiting group to track how much time issues spend in idle or blocked statuses, such as Waiting for Customer or Ready for Testing. On the chart, both the In Progress and Waiting groups are outlined with dashed borders, allowing you to visually compare the two:

You can toggle the visibility of each group using the checkboxes next to In Progress and Waiting in the settings:
