Metric: Lead time

The Lead time metric measures the total duration from when a work item is created until it’s completed. You can select it as the metric in the Calculation section of the chart settings. The configured metric is displayed on the chart and also appears in the Breakdown and Issue list sections.

How the Lead time is calculated

The chart calculates how much time passes from the moment an issue is created until it reaches a status in the Done category.

You can customize how this time is calculated by defining:

• Which statuses count as Done.

• When the timer starts and stops.

• Whether to count calendar or working hours.

• Which time units to use.
