Final commitment

Definition

The amount of work the team has committed to deliver by the end of a sprint, after all scope adjustments made during the sprint are taken into account. If the sprint is still in progress, the metric reflects the current situation.

Category

Commitment.

Formulas:

  • Final commitment = Initial commitment + Added work + Estimation change – Removed work

  • Final commitment = Initial commitment + Total scope change

In the example below, in Sprint 76:

  • Initial commitment = 37.5 SP

  • Added work = +5 SP

  • Estimation change = +0.5 SP

  • Removed work = 0 SP

  • Final commitment = 43 SP

This is 6 SP higher than the initial commitment. You can see the detailed breakdown for each metric below the chart by clicking on the sprint.
