Subcomponents for Jira is an app that extends projects with the following component and version tools (extensions):

Global settings
Jira administrator can configure settings of each extension in the Settings section located in Jira administration / Manage apps / Subcomponents for Jira.
Each extension can be enabled/disabled on a project basis
Extension links can be enabled/disabled in project navigation and project settings sections.

Custom project permissions
Project administrator can grant permission to manage project Subcomponents, Packages, Component Versions to non-project admin users.

REST API
Every extension has a complete REST API documented with built-in Swagger UI available in your Jira administration → Manage apps → Subcomponents → REST API section.
How to install
Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
Click the admin dropdown and choose Atlassian Marketplace.
The Manage apps screen loads.
Click Find new apps from the left-hand side of the page.
Locate Subcomponents for Jira via search.
The appropriate app version appears in the search results.
Click Free Trial to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license for Subcomponents for Jira.
You're prompted to log into MyAtlassian. Subcomponents for Jira begins to download.
Enter your information and click Generate license when redirected to MyAtlassian.
Click Apply license.
If you're using an older version of UPM, you can copy and paste the license into your Jira instance.
