Custom project permissions

Permissions overview

By default in Jira only project administrator can manage versions.

This becomes a limitation for Versions hierarhy app because only project administrator would be able to manage project versions hierarchy.

That's why we added new custom project permission “Manage Versions hierarchy“ to enable project administrator to delegate its configuration to non-admin users.

You can grant new permissions to users, groups, roles etc the same way as standard project permissions by editing project Permission schema.

Manage Versions hierarchy permissions

Users with Manage Versions hierarchy permission:

• can create versions on Versions hierarchy project tab

• cannot create versions on Versions/Releases project tab
