When deadlines are tight, and delays are costly, the Cycle Time Histogram Chart helps you quickly pinpoint bottlenecks, allowing you to take immediate action to keep projects on track.

Tips:

  • Spot bottlenecks: identify where tasks get stuck.

  • Optimize efficiency: see which processes need tweaking.

  • Track improvement: measure the impact of changes over time.

How to read the Cycle Time Histogram Chart

  • Y-axis represents the Issue Count — how many tasks are being tracked.

  • X-axis displays the selected Unit (days, weeks, etc.), showing the time taken for tasks.

  • Bars: each separate bar represents all issues with the same Cycle/Lead Time value.

    • The highest bar represents the group of issues that share the most common cycle/lead time value. It shows where most tasks are clustered regarding the time taken to complete.

    • The lowest bar represents the fewest issues with that specific time value. This could indicate outliers or exceptional cases where tasks took much longer or shorter than the average.
